150 YEARS IN THE MAKING

SHORES

Formed by the force of the ocean and fused with precious metals, SHORES create unique jewellery pieces that are the perfect balance between nature and craftsmanship.

SHORES sea glass is sourced from the North East Coast that line the once industrial towns of Seaham and Eastington. The Londonderry bottle works opened in 1853 and grew to become the largest of its kind in Europe. By 1894 the site operated 6 bottle houses and produced 20 million handcrafted bottles each year. The majority of which were shipped internationally in a bespoke range of colour, shapes and sizes that were unique to their clients.

Situated on the coastline, much of the waste glass from the bottle works were dumped into the ocean where it has lay for over 150 years. The uniqueness of this glass comes from its density, even after being gently tumbled in the passing tides for over a century, the weight and thickness are much sought after as it is unparalleled anywhere else in Europe, if not the world!

SHORES sea glass was hand forged by men and women over a century ago, tumbled by the ocean tides for decades and is hand picked as it washes ashore today. Collecting the most unique shapes and colours to bring timeless pieces that hold just as much heritage as they do beauty.
